Aluma Tray 8’
Built for 1-ton long-box trucks and the most capable expedition setups in the OEV lineup.
When the rig gets bigger, the tray has to match. The Aluma Tray 8’ is designed for 1-ton long-box trucks and supports three camper configurations: the Hudson Bay 6.75’ (with a front storage box to use the extra bed length), the Hudson Bay 8’, and the Back Country with optional side boxes.
The extra foot of bed area over the 6.75’ tray opens up more tie-down configurations and more flexibility in how you load and position your camper. The 8’ tray uses the same marine-grade aluminum alloy construction and Torklift Derringer-compatible anchor points as the rest of the Alumatray lineup, with mounting positions engineered around OEV’s camper geometry.
Every detail — from the lower-than-stock deck height to the powder-coat matte black finish — is there for a reason. This is not a repurposed work truck bed. It’s an expedition flatbed built specifically for people running serious rigs on serious trips.

Aluma Tray 8' FAQ
Do I need a flatbed to use a truck camper?
It depends on the camper. Slide-in campers load directly into your factory truck bed and need no flatbed. Flatbed campers like the OEV Hudson Bay and High Country require an aluminum flatbed tray to mount correctly. The Aluma Tray 8’ is designed specifically for these campers and replaces the factory bed with a lower-profile, purpose-built expedition platform.
What trucks fit the Aluma Tray 8’?
The Aluma Tray 8’ is built for 1-ton long-box trucks, including the Ford F-350 long box, Ram 3500 long box, and Chevy Silverado 3500 long box. It uses the same marine-grade aluminum construction and Torklift Derringer-compatible anchor points as the rest of the Aluma Tray lineup.
What campers pair with the Aluma Tray 8’?
The Aluma Tray 8’ supports three camper configurations: the Hudson Bay 6.75’ with a front storage box to use the extra bed length, the Hudson Bay 8’ as a direct fit, and the Back Country 6.85’ slide-in with optional side boxes. All three are removable campers that can be loaded and unloaded independently of the flatbed.
What is a tray bed truck?
A tray bed truck (also called a flatbed truck or tray truck) has an open aluminum or steel platform in place of a factory pickup bed. Tray beds offer more usable surface area, lower deck height, easier tie-down access from three sides, and better compatibility with expedition campers that need a level, reinforced mounting surface. The Aluma Tray system is designed from the ground up for off-road expedition use rather than commercial hauling.
How does the Aluma Tray attach to the truck?
The Aluma Tray bolts directly to the truck frame using fit kits engineered for each specific truck model. It uses Torklift Derringer-compatible anchor points for securing campers and integrates aircraft-style L-track along both sides for flexible tie-down configurations. The deck height is lower than a stock truck bed, which lowers the camper’s center of gravity and improves on-road stability.
