Here's the part that trips people up, so it's worth being plain about it.
Both the 8' and the 6.75' Hudson Bay have the identical 8-foot wall-to-wall interior. The number in the name is the base length that sits on the tray, not the space inside.
- 8' has a squared rear and sits on a full 8-foot tray
- 6.75' uses a rear kick-out to reach the same 8-foot back wall, so it fits a short bed
So you don't trade away any living space to fit a shorter truck. You pick the base length that matches your setup and get the same 8 feet of interior either way, with a 78-inch floor width to move around in.
Built Like Every OEV Camper
The Hudson Bay uses the same construction that runs through the whole OEV line. Composite floor, walls, and roof on an aluminum exoskeleton. No wood to soak up moisture and rot, no particle board to shake apart over the years. The pop-up roof raises and lowers on Linak electric actuators with a manual override, and the whole rig runs DOT LED lighting. It's lightweight for its size and built to stay under your GVWR and outlast the truck under it.
Power and Comfort for the Long Way Around
For a camper this compact, the systems punch above their size:
- Solar and power: 220 watts of roof solar with room to expand, feeding a 3,000-watt Victron inverter
- Kitchen: a 130-liter Isotherm drawer-style fridge and freezer, a stainless sink, and a cooktop with flush-mount glass covers that double as counter space
- Climate: a full Truma heat and hot water system, so the shower runs hot and the cabin stays warm in the cold
- Water: 20 to 38 gallons of fresh water on board
Because it's a removable build, there's no onboard gray tank. Wastewater drains to the ground or a portable container, which keeps the camper simpler and lighter.
Which Truck It Fits
